Natural Healing is Making a Comeback

There is a big debate going on about just what is natural healing. There used to be Eastern Medicine. Now there is Western Medicine. Natural healing is part of both types of medicine, but Western medicine takes into account the body and often forgets part of healing also holds a spiritual, emotional, and mental component.

So just what is natural healing? Some say it is the use of natural products or methods to induce healing. The debate is primarily about synthetic medicines and treatments versus natural medicine and other natural ways to treat disease. Western medicine has a place in society and at the same time, that does not mean we should collectively forget about natural products or treatment methods that have been available for centuries.

With the technological advances, these alternative methods have been pushed to the back of the bus. Many insurance companies will not pay for natural healing. So where does that leave people who are interested in finding treatments? One place that they can seek help is to tap into the abundant resources found in books today. Acupressure, homeopathic medicine, natural hormones, herbs, reflexology, vitamins, and natural pharmaceuticals are all alternative ways to heal the body and are the subject of numerous books.

One of the biggest conflicts between natural healing and Western medicine hinges on all the additives and new medications that we consume. The strongest argument is that the new medications and the food additives used by doctors and sellers have a cumulative effect, adding to the build up of toxins in the body. People desire to return to the basics for many different reasons. One train of thought is that natural will be better over the long run. Others think that there are natural products that do the same thing as the expensive medications, so why not go natural.

With the growth and progression of increased learning around biochemistry, physiology, and chemical process methods, the big pharmaceutical company are cashing in on an industry that put billions of dollars in their pockets. The bad new is, big pharmaceutical companies have lots of money to throw into advertising and money to give to doctors that will use there methods and drugs.

The good news is that some medical practitioners believe in the natural healing methods. They are finding ways to get insurance companies to pay and are working closely together with natural healers to push natural treatments and substances as opposed to synthetic drugs.  While the odds are not in favor of natural healing, there are volumes of information available and scores of health care providers that work with people who know natural healing is more powerful and positive then the Western medical community will admit.
